PNG’S Prime Minister, James Marape giving his speech during the Gospel Reset Music Festival.
Por
Minister James Marape’s words hit deep. He reminded us that our National Anthem isn’t just a song we sing—it’s a call to action.
“O arise all you sons of this land.”
This is more than a lyric; it’s a charge to every young man. It means we have a sacred duty: to protect, respect, and uplift our sisters, our mothers, and our aunties.
But it goes even further. Being our “sisters’ keepers” isn’t just about protection. It’s about: ✅Empowerment: Creating spaces where their voices are heard and valued. ✅Equality: Championing their right to education, safety, and opportunity. ✅Respect: Calling out harmful behavior and building a culture of zero tolerance for violence. ✅Support: Standing beside them as allies in the pursuit of their dreams.
A strong nation is built when all its children can rise together, without fear. Our strength as men is not measured by our power over others, but by our respect for them.
Let’s honor the true spirit of our anthem. Let’s be the guardians of a safer, more just Papua New Guinea for everyone.
